TK DESIGNS BIOGRAPHY   TK DESIGNS ATLANTA - Return to Question Menu

Linda, TK Designs head seamtress, was literally raised under needle and thread. At an early age, her mother taught her to sew while having her operate the foot pedal at her feet under the sewing machine!

She cut her designer teeth by crafting clothing for her play dolls, eventually, graduating to cutting, designing and creating her own school clothes - all by hand.

Linda migrated to the United States to pursue a career in nursing, but realized soon after visiting Grady Memorial Hospital that nursing was not what she wanted to do with her life. She began searching for new employment and, eventually, ended up doing alterations in a men’s alteration shop.

There is where she learned the intricacies of men clothing and began to perfect the art of tailoring.

Later, she would step away from the needle and thread as a profession to work for Eastman Kodak. However, occasionally, she would do sewing for friends. This lasted for about ten years until she saw a profile in the AJC about a local designer by the name of Jay Reynolds who specialized in formal and pageant gowns. She contacted him about the possibility of getting a job in his company, instead –and to her surprise - he offered her a contract sewing his dresses. This relationship would last throughout the ‘90s.

It was there, she would build her skills, learning the “ins-and-outs” of the formal attire industry from fabric, fitting, to garment construction.

After so many years of working for others, and realizing that she had built up a high level of specialized skills that were in high demand, Linda made a decision to pursue her own business under the name of TK Designs.

With over 30 years experience in the bridal and formal wear industry, Linda is known and trusted throughout Metro Atlanta for her expertise in alterations and custom tailoring. She takes extreme pride in the level of service provided by TK Designs. The staff is exceptionally well-trained and qualified experts in dressmaking and tailoring.

TK Designs is the authorized alteration representative of Bridals by Lori, Bridal Sense and Chrisanne Couture Dancewear.
